Bri and Ben – Bemidji Wedding Photographer

Happy Sunday, everyone!  I have another gorgeous wedding to share with you!  I know many of you have been anxious to see images from Bri and Ben’s special day, so here they are!

One thing I loved about this wedding was all the pink! If you don’t know by now, I LOVE PINK! And that’s exactly what this bride brought to her wedding. Lots of pink! She also brought my other favorite thing…

SPARKLES

Any day when I’m surrounded by pink and sparkles is a good day. 🙂

Bri not only brought sparkles to her wedding decor, but she also brings a sparkle to any room when she walks in. She’s the type of person who has a smile and personality that make you feel like you’re instantly friends when you meet. She is just a beautiful girl full of happiness and kindness. She does truly sparkle, and it has been fun getting to know her.

Ben is such a lucky guy to have this princess by his side. They truly are meant for one another, and I’m so thankful that I was able to be there to document their special day.

Congratulations, Bri and Ben! I wish you the best as your fairy tale unfolds!

Mollie & Carl – Pumpkin Seed Farm in Bemidji Wedding

I’m so excited to share this wedding with you!  It is the first MORNING wedding I have ever photographed, and I loved it!  The bride and groom decided to get married on a Sunday morning and celebrated with their family and friends over a fun themed brunch afterwards!  This opened up a world of fun ideas and opportunities for details that you normally don’t see at weddings.

One of my favorite details was the wedding favors.  They were cute coffee mugs that Mollie’s mom and aunt had collected over the year.  The guests could choose any mug they wanted.  Some had Bible verses, some had jokes, some said Bemidji, MN.  There was such a fun variety.  After the guest picked out their mug they could take it over to the coffee station and fill it up and enjoy a fresh brew.  Mollie and Carl had fun seeing all the cups that each guest had chosen.

Another great detail that took a lot of time and heart was the table decorations.  Mollie’s grandmother is a collector of salt and pepper shakers.  After Mollie and Carl had made the seating chart for the reception, they picked out salt and pepper shakers that would identify with the people at each of the tables.  Nothing like a fun salt and pepper shaker to use on your yummy brunch!

These two have such a sweet and special story.  They are madly in love with each other but mostly with Jesus Christ.  It showed in everything throughout their day.  It was such an honor to be a part of their day and to spend time with them.  Such a beautiful couple on the inside and out!

As always, here’s a huge shout out to all of the vendors that helped make this event so awesome!

Bridesmaid Dresses: All over the place. They had the option of choosing their own because all 8 of my bridesmaids are so different. So my environmentalist friend chose her dress that was made out of biodegradable material from a non-profit organization, while my high class friend with expensive taste chose a long, elegant dress. As long as they were all dark midnight navy blue, I wanted them to choose something that made them feel beautiful. Because I had such different personalities, no dress was exactly the same.

Lindsay and Joe – Russian Village Wedding at Concordia

Concordia Language Villages is always such a beautiful place to visit.  Each village is surrounded by the beauty of Northern Minnesota.  It is never difficult to find a pretty spot for pictures with all of the majestic trees and lush vegetation everywhere.

I had the honor of photographing Lindsay and Joe’s amazing wedding at the Russian Language Village.  This is the first event I’ve covered at this particular village, and I was not disappointed.  Not only are Lindsay and Joe full of character, but so is the lovely location they chose to start the rest of their lives together at.  You’ll see what I mean as you stroll through their gorgeous day below.

Proposal and Engagement Photos – Bemidji Photographer

Drew and Samantha are definitely my favorite couple of the year!  With anticipation of their wedding in two days, I decided to blog about our fun adventure up to this point.

It all started this winter when Drew contacted me.  He decided he was going to do a surprise proposal for Samantha, and he wanted me to come along to photograph it.  Both Drew and Samantha’s family were invited and met with me on the big night.  We hid behind the Chamber Building (right in downtown Bemidji by Paul and Babe).  It was a cold night, but I think we were all too excited to notice.  I kept poking my head around the corner to see if Drew and Samantha were walking our way.  I finally spotted them!  It seemed to take forever for them to make it to “the spot” Drew told me about.  When they were in place, Samantha’s little boy ran out from our hiding place to present her with the ring.  Samantha was completely surprised!  She had no idea!  It was so fun to be able to capture all of it with my camera.  Seriously, guys!  When you decide to propose to your girl, think of having a photographer there!  It is so romantic and such a fun way to remember the special moment.

Well, winter eventually ended and summer came.  I was so excited when Drew and Samantha asked me to photograph their engagement photos and their wedding.  I was so honored to be asked!  They are such a lovely couple, and it was so fun to continue on with photographing their beautiful story!

Ashley and Chris Engagement Shoot in Bemidji

These two lovebirds were fun to hang out with.  The word that comes to mind when I think about them is…kind.  Not just kind, but sincerely kind.  It shows within minutes after meeting them.  I’m super excited to photograph their big day in September!

A HUGE thank you to Lisa and Jeff Mitchell for letting me use their awesome barn yet again.  It is great to be able to incorporate something with so much history and character into my photos.  One of my most favorite places to photograph.  Thanks, Mitchells!

Tina and Scotty’s Engagement photos – Including the famous duo Paul Bunyan and Babe!

I was so excited to do Tina’s engagement photos!  We were best friends in high school, and I still hadn’t even met her fiance.  So, maybe I should say I was more excited about seeing her and meeting Scotty.  Taking their pictures was just the icing on the cake.  We first met for coffee and to discuss the fun wedding details (my favorite detail is that I get to be their photographer).  Then we trekked off to the great outdoors for some winter shots.  Well, we made it as far as Paul Bunyan and Babe to begin with.  I know it’s a cliche photo, but doesn’t that mean everyone has to have at least one with the famous duo?

It was such a cold day.  Red noses mixed with seeing your breath in the air isn’t the best situation for photos, but these two pulled it off!  You can’t even tell how freezing they were in the pictures!
