Easter Mini-Sessions in Bemidji

I have an awesome neighbor, and she runs an awesome daycare!  We decided to do Easter Mini-Sessions for her kiddos.  I really wanted to do outdoor pictures, but you know how the weather is in Minnesota.  We ended up moving it into her garage because it was so cold and windy.  I guess it’s always good to have a backup plan.

The kids were adorable and so sweet.  I can’t even pick out a favorite photo from this shoot.  They all brought their own little personality and cuteness.

One of the funnest things about this shoot was incorporating Annabelle.  Annabelle is a little white, fluff of a bunny.  My friends, Tim and Tanya, let her hang out with us for the afternoon.  (Thanks again you two!)  Annabelle would just hop here and there.  Into photos.  Out of photos.  She was a blast to watch and the kids loved playing with her.  I think it was a win-win situation.

A bunch of cute kids and an adorable bunny and a camera = lots of fun and the photos below!

The Burgess Family

It was fun to meet up with Tahnee again.  I had taken pictures of her twin nephews when they were 8 days old at her house.  It gave me a chance to meet her and some of her family too.  Shortly after that she decided it was time to get some new family portraits taken.  Her and Ben have 6 kids.  They are all between the ages of 4 to 14.  Let’s just say we survived, and we survived with some really special pictures.  🙂

Baby Drew

I love newborn sessions!  I was especially excited for this one.  Baby Drew just happens to be my new neighbor!  I love any opportunity to get to know my neighbors better!  Drew did wonderful for this shoot.  I even got to try out a new backdrop and a couple of new props.  It is fun trying to come up with new ideas and finding stuff to use that hasn’t been used before.  His dad is a phy ed teacher so he’s really into sports.  We were able to incorporate his baseball glove into some of the pictures.  It’s so fun seeing how small Drew is next to his daddy’s glove.  They grow up so fast, and it’s great to be able to look back at photos to see how small they were when they started out.

Little Grace

This shoot is a great reminder to me of why I LOVE doing on location shoots!  People have the funnest stuff in their homes!  I could tell the instant I drove up to their house that it was going to be a unique and fun and beautiful newborn shoot.  I was right.  The painting you see in some of the photos was one that the dad actually painted.  I was so impressed.  This couple had such an eye for decorating.  They were also super sweet.  The dad even showed me the play set he got up before the new baby came.  It was his way of “nesting”.  🙂  I loved it so much that we went and got the same one for our little guy who just turned 2 in June!

Julia and Mike

I was so excited when Julia contacted me to talk about setting up a maternity session.  We ended up scheduling it for when she was 9 months along.  Usually we try to schedule them at 7-8 months so the mommy isn’t as uncomfortable, but we weren’t able to fit it in before then.

The day of the session, she turned up with her husband Mike.  I was actually in orchestra with Mike in high school.  It had been 10 years since I’d seen him.  They were such a lovely and sweet couple.  Julia has to be one of the prettiest preggos ever!  I was amazed she was 9 months along.  She was moving and looking like she was only 7 months!  The session went great, and I love how the photos turned out!  Congrats, Mike and Julia, on this exciting time in your life!
