Debbie and Rick – A Beautiful Vow Renewal

This was the first vow renewal I’ve ever photographed.  I knew it was going to be awesome.  If you know Debbie and Rick, you know everything they do is awesome.  They are so friendly and sincere.  It was a privilege to be there to witness and photograph this special day.  There was so much joy and love between not only them, but between their family and friends too.  Even though these two have been married for 15 years, they still look at each other like newlyweds.  I’m not even exaggerating.  You can tell that they are the best of friends.  I’m honored to know them.  Congratulations, Debbie and Rick, on your love and steadfastness!  Here’s to the next 15 years!

Bemidji Portrait Photography

This is the second time I’ve been blessed to take pictures for this amazing family!  The first session I did was for senior pictures.  This next one was for two of the younger kids.  I love it when people want to capture pictures of their kids when they’re in between the child and graduate age.  It’s a time that goes by so fast, and your kids change so much.  The first pictures I’ll post are from the senior session, and the last ones will be from the last session.

Litte Benjamin

This was a fun session.  Benjamin had turned one and his mom decided to contacted me to take photos.  I’m never sure if the child will be able to walk or not at this age, but Benjamin was a little older.  He was definitely able to walk.  When I was going through all the photos I realized he was moving in about 80% of them.  Little boys have SO much energy and curiousity!  It’s fun to capture them in ways that reveal their personality.

Surprises and Pictures

Andrea contacted me from Boise, Idaho.  It was pretty cool, because I grew up in Idaho.  I always freak out when I meet people from Idaho, or when I see an Idaho license plate.  For some reason I feel like that automatically makes someone family or a best friend.  🙂  So, I was pretty stoked when Andrea e-mailed me.  They were planning a surprise birthday party for her mom.  All the families were getting together, and they wanted some family pictures.  So, here is what we came up with!

Liam turns 1!

This is the second time I’ve been able to do a shoot at this home.  It has so much character and fun spots.  Liam’s dad is in the military and is stationed overseas.  They scheduled the shoot for when he was going to be home for a short leave.  It was really nice meeting them and taking some family pictures.

Little Grace

This shoot is a great reminder to me of why I LOVE doing on location shoots!  People have the funnest stuff in their homes!  I could tell the instant I drove up to their house that it was going to be a unique and fun and beautiful newborn shoot.  I was right.  The painting you see in some of the photos was one that the dad actually painted.  I was so impressed.  This couple had such an eye for decorating.  They were also super sweet.  The dad even showed me the play set he got up before the new baby came.  It was his way of “nesting”.  🙂  I loved it so much that we went and got the same one for our little guy who just turned 2 in June!

Second day of twins!

What a fun week!  I had a twin newborn session on Wednesday and then a twin child session on Thursday!

So, Thursday I throw on my white Purrington Photography shirt and jump into my car with my gear and a Coke.  I don’t usually drink soda, but I was feeling unusually drained this evening.  I take off a little early so I can scope out the place and the lighting.  On my way to the location I spilled the Coke on my shirt.  Yup, my white shirt.  Oh, yeah!  I’m that classy!  I debated going back and getting a different shirt, but I decided not to because of time.  I usually bring an extra shirt with me on my newborn shoots, but now I think I need to start bringing an extra shirt for ALL my shoots.  So, I spent the rest of my drive trying to figure out if I wanted to point it out at my shoot so I could expain that I don’t normally show up to sessions in stained shirts or if I wanted to just not mention it and maybe no one would notice.  I decided not to point it out.  Still don’t know if the family noticed.  Maybe we were all too busy chasing around their little 2 1/2 year olds to pay attention to anything else!

These BEAUTIFUL little girls were all over the place.  Even though they are twins, one had brown eyes and the other had blue eyes.  The biggest accomplishment me and the parents had that evening was getting them to be by each other.  For some reason they were independent and wanting to do their own thing.  We were still able to capture some precious moments.  All these twin sessions make me want twins!  They are so fun!
