Bemidji Senior Photos – Bemidji Photographer

Amy was one of my favorite seniors from Bemidji High School this year.  Not only is she absolutely adorable, but she’s sweet too!  She brought along the coolest outfits and ideas!  Seriously, girls, I will love it if you bring along fun accessories!  We started her session at the Beltrami Historic Center.  As we were taking pictures I heard a train coming.  I decided to to blur it in the background of one of her photos for something fun and unique.  I slowed down my camera shutter and Amy held really still, and we got it!

I can’t get over how fun this outfit is!  I love the accessories, the jacket, the shoes, the hair…everything!blog2 blog3

It is always fun to incorporate a hobby or activity into your senior photos.  Amy plays tennis, so we took a few shots of her on the court.  Senior pictures are about trying to capture who you are at this important stage in life.  What are you interested in, what do you look like, what is your style, etc.

We decided to end her session in a beautiful field.  We didn’t have a spectacular sunset, but the golden light that fell on Amy was beautiful!  I love how it’s back lighting her in the first image below.

Senior Pictures Photographer in Bemidji

Alex was super fun to photograph for her senior pictures!  Even though she is a Bagley High School Senior, we decided to take most of her photos in Downtown Bemidji to give her something a little different and unique.  I chatted with Alex and her mom about all the fun things we could do for the session.  One of my favorite ideas to incorporate into her senior photos was her passion and involvement with dance.  I found an indoor location that showcased old Bemidji brick.  It was a perfect background for her dance pictures.  One of my favorite photos from the session is the one below with all the dance shoes.  They are actual dance shoes Alex wore as she grew up.  There’s so much history in that image.

It is always fun to have moms of seniors join us on our shoot.  Alex has an awesome mom who has been so great to work with.  She even left the sweetest testimonial on my Facebook page.  I thought I would share it here too.  :)

“Purrington Photography is awesome! You did a fantastic job with my daughter’s Senior pictures last fall, despite a VERY cold afternoon outdoor shoot… I was very impressed with the time you took! And thanks again for taking the time to find a special indoor space for dance photos… they are some of our favorites! It was a great experience, my daughter & I both had so much fun & all of the pictures are beautiful! Thank you!” -Jandi Theis

Fun Model Shoot in Vegas – Destination Photographer

During the WPPI Convention in Las Vegas, I had the privilege of meeting the beautiful Klarissa.  We had connected before my trip and decided to meet up and have some fun with our own little shoot.  Her hair dresser did up her hair and makeup for the session, and then she even decided to join us for modeling.  It was perfect, too, because I had two other photographer friends that decided to join me on the fun excursion. We went to the Art District and then finished up at The Lou Ruvo Brain Institute.  I’m sure you’ll be able to figure out which building it is below.  It is amazing!

Fun Baby Boy Shower Ideas by Events by Design in Bemidji

Recently my friends Jodi and Elise at Events and Interiors by Design had the opportunity to design a baby boy shower at the Bemidji Town and Country Club which is located on the north shore of Lake Bemidji.  They have so many fun and unique design ideas.  I love their attention to detail.  I was curious to see the ideas they had for a blue baby boy shower, so I asked if I could stop by and say hi and take some photos.

I’m so glad I stopped by!  It was really fun to see all of their ideas unfold.  I absolutely loved the blue decor hanging from the ceiling!  It really completed the entire look.  These girls are so creative!  I also loved the Jones sodas that were complimented with a friendly mustache straw.

Maternity Pictures – Bemidji Photographer

Amanda and Jake are expecting their first baby!!!  First babies are so exciting.  It’s such a huge life changing event.  Becoming a parent is a reminder of what a miracle life is.  All of the sudden you are responsible for a little baby that is completely dependent on you.  It’s so amazing!

When I was planning the session with Amanda, we decided to do the shoot in their home and to finish up outside.  Some of you might recognize the barn in the outdoor photos.  It’s the big red barn you drive past on the Bemidji Power Dam Rd.  Red barns are SO cool!

Indoor Maternity Pictures – Bemidji Maternity Photographer

This is the 3rd time I’ve had the privilege of photographing this cute little family.  It has been fun watching their little girl grow up, and soon their little boy!  I was so excited when the told me the good news!  Since it’s winter up here in Northern Minnesota, we decided to do their session inside their home.  I’m so glad we did!  The colors were gorgeous!  Her house if full of rich browns and blues.  This is one of the reasons I love taking pictures at client’s homes.  It makes their pictures unique and personal.  We can incorporate things that have meaning to them.  Another huge benefit is that the photos that end up framed on your walls go perfectly with your decor!  This was such a fun maternity session!

Wedding in the Desert With Barn and Bicycle – Destination Wedding Photographer

Another fun couple!  Here’s the second bride and groom from my Ghost Town Desert Shoot Out.  There were so many fun places to take pictures at the Nelson Nevada Ghost Town at El Dorardo Canyon.  There were mountains, fun old buildings, vintage cars, a crashed plane, cacti, a road and so much more.  It was almost overwhelmingly exciting.  I hope to go back there someday to do another shoot.  There is no end to the fun things you can do at this desert location!
